Summary
Rating: Adult. Angst. Violence. Set post Red Matter, naturally.
Characters: Jane/Lisbon friendship, Jane/Cho. Adult but no smut.
Summary: Red John sets something in motion that drives Patrick Jane to a desperate act, and Jane turns from the hunted into the hunter.
Disclaimer: Not mine though I wish he was.
Words: This will be a longish fic’. Those among you familiar with me know that means 20,000 words-plus. I have tried to stick to canon (other than the eventual Jane/Cho) as much as possible while still freely exploring my own ideas.Red John sets something in motion that drives Patrick Jane to a desperate act, and Jane turns from the hunted into the hunter.

Summary
Northeastern California, on a cold November day—a savage assault on a Sheriff’s Department brings CBI in to assist.
Three masked assailants with semi-automatic rifles assaulted the employees of the DuLacs County Sheriff’s Department. Why?
The Sheriff is baffled. With one deputy in surgery, another with retrograde amnesia, and the third on suspension, CBI lacks witnesses and motive. Teresa Lisbon needs to know—one of the victims was a CBI agent for six years, and Lisbon’s trainee.
Patrick Jane needs to know—an eight-year-old girl was in the office, but is nowhere to be found. If Jane can coax the memories from the Assistant Sheriff, CBI will have the missing pieces of the puzzle. If they can put the jigsaw puzzle together, they can find the assassins, and figure out why three people were murdered.
If they can’t, an eight-year-old girl may stay missing forever.
