Bilbo Baggins doesn't know how to go on without Thorin, but he'll manage.
Healing others and helping the ambitious king deal with the supposed ignorance of other races seems to help.

He has reclaimed Erebor and defended it, but Thorin will never enjoy the rewards of his struggles. As he lies dying on Ravenhill, he remembers... they say life flashes in front of your eyes in your final moments, but for Thorin it is more of an epic tale.
A tale of family and fire, of love and loss, of madness and mourning, of exile and war, and of the great courage that carried him through it all.

Forty years after several great Corsair fleets were decimated at the hands of the Gondorians, Umbar is beset with waves of refugees fleeing the Southern lands of Harad. Gondor is attacking again: burning ports, looting towns, and spreading fear. Rumours are starting abroad and in the City that not only do they have their eye on the coastlands once more, but on new territory to the East: the mountains of the Orocarni, a rich, thriving trade hub and the home of the greatest of the dwarves, the Four Dwarven Clans - the Ironfists, Blacklocks, Stiffbeards, and Stonefoots.
Now with the rise of Sauron starting up again, a group of dwarf-led resistance fighters have to struggle against the imperialism from the West and the darkness seeping into their homeland.

After Smaug attacked Erebor, the dwarves of Erebor, including young Thorin and Dwalin, take refuge in the Iron Hills.
The lads, restless and bored, soon discover that King Gror's young son Dain has a secret.
Dwalin tells the story of what Thorin did next.
