“Shinpachi!”
The garbled up voice shouted. It was ugly in comparison to the melody’s gentle and loving whispers. Yet the voice was strong and powerful. A voice he could not avoid; a voice which his heart knew and ached for.
“Gin-san…” He mumbled hoarsely. For a brief moment he caught a view of worried reddish brown eyes, curly white hair and a hand, outstretched towards him.
Shinpachi tried to move, tried to reach the hand but his limbs would not move. He stood still, floating away in the white glow’s firm and gentle embrace. He attempted to scream, but no sound came from his voice.
Shinpachi cleared his throat and spoke. “Hello…’ This time he tried formulating a word thinking it would solve the mystery. If anything it added to it. For his voice did not sound hoarse, but feminine and frightened.
Shinpachi is swept away by an enticing melody, landing in a strange place, in a time in which he should have not existed and in a body stranger to his own.
Meanwhile, back in the present, Gintoki struggles to get Shinpachi back before he dies and once again breaking his heart.
