The first time Phil meets Clint Barton, he’s in handcuffs. He looks exhausted, there are bags under his eyes and he slumps in the hard metal chair. “The FBI wants you hung out to dry.” Phil drops the file on the table in between them. Clint looks at the file and then slowly tilts his head up to look at him.
“You look like FBI.”
Phil smiles dryly. “My organization prefers to hide in plain sight. Looking like the FBI serves that purpose.” Barton snorts, it might even be a laugh.
“And what organization is that?”

Read twice alreadyL satisfying length, kinda plotty, GORGEOUS. Shifting POVs between scenes and both the John and Sherlock voices are great. And they're both so BRAVE and they love each other SO MUCH. John is just... so so kind and he is always what Sherlock needs and I love him forever. And I love this Sherlock too - he hides the damage a villain does him because he knows it'll upset John and I wibble. Also, "it's been an honour" - "the honour was mine, John. It always has been" when they think they might die just. ALL THE FEELINGS. So perfect for Holmes and Watson.
Also Mycroft is BAMF and HILARIOUS.
