Summary
The Reapers were defeated, and now Shepard and Kaidan was supposed to start on their new life, one which was not in the shadow of constant doom. But things didn't quite pan out as they planned, and as a result they drifted apart. Shepard picks up where he had left off, the Commander of the Normandy, searching through the galaxies for Cerberus pockets. Untill they pick up a distress call from Kaidan who is stranded on a remote mining rock in an astroid belt, called LV-426.

After defeating rogue spectre Saren Arterius, the Normandy is attacked somewhere in the Amada system. Kaidan Alenko defies his CO's orders and comes back to save her life, dying in her place. Without a ship and with half her crew dead and the other half reassigned, Shepard must find a way to strike back at the unknown assailants before they have the chance to strike again. Fortunately, she has the help of a few old friends in addition to the allies that she finds in the most unlikely of places.

Garrus watched Hackett speak this second time, his tone gruff, military parade-rest a second skin like armor, describing Anderson's accomplishments, and remembered Wrex nodding to him down in the cargo hold when he showed up, just walking out of Ash's memorial. Wrex hadn't even pretended to show (not willing to feign concern when he had none), and the two of them had gone about their respective tasks in silence.
