Summary
Written for hc_bingo on Dreamwidth, prompt "nightmares"
Zimmy and Gamma aren't together every second of the day, much as Zimmy wishes they could be. Sometimes, they have to part, if only because the scientists don't always want them together for the tests. But she always looks forward to when they can be together again.
Sometimes, though, Zimmy finds Gamma in unexpected places, getting up to unexpected things. Finding her happily laughing with three girls from Quislett house is unexpected, realizing what they've been doing to Gamma in her absence is a horrific nightmare. Zimmy needs Gamma. Anything that might draw Gamma away is unacceptable. Even if Gamma is only doing this for her own good.
Fortunately, when the anger builds and the static comes, Gamma is still there. Gamma is always there, without fear or hesitation, with a smile like the rain and a voice like an angel.
