Summary
Castiel is a prince and is about to be forced to marry a princess of an enemy kingdom as a means of peace. Once told of this arrangement by his father, the prince refuses, claiming that he wants to marry someone for love, not because he /has/ to. The king curses Castiel to live a life trapped in a story book, where Castiel should fall in love with every person that picks it up and reads it, but only someone who can fall in love with the prince can set him free and break the spell.
Dean Winchester is a farm boy who loves reading and working in the bookshop his father's friend owns and runs, and is given first dibs on a story that has just come in, all the way from the castle.
An innocent read turns into one of the most confusing and interesting turns in Dean's life, and sends Castiel into a whirlwind of emotions he didn't know he could feel anymore. -

Summary
Sam Winchester met Gabriel Novak through his older brother, Dean. At first, the younger Winchester couldn't stand the thought of the other boy, but after getting to know him a little bit, things started changing and they soon fell in love.
But all too soon, Dean and Gabriel are drafted to fight in the Vietnam war, where Gabriel is shot and killed before he can keep his promise to come back to Sam's waiting arms.
Dean Winchester met Castiel Novak through Gabriel, and the older Winchester was basically smitten with him when they first laid eyes on each other. Castiel thought otherwise. It takes a little convincing from the older boy, but eventually, Castiel comes around and a deep and unconditional love forms between the two of them that withstands the tests that a war they shouldn't even be involved in brings their way.

"Angels were a common occurrence in their world. Even though there were angels who lived in Heaven and helped orchestrate events and acted as agents of fate, there were also the angels that just wanted a normal life. For example, take the Novak family. Castiel, Michael, and Lucifer were all brothers. Their father was named Chuck and to them, their mother was just some woman who realized she never wanted fledglings when her kids weren’t even old enough to start elementary school and had abandoned them one night. Castiel, Michael, and Lucifer had three cousins who were named Gabriel, Balthazar, and Zachariah. Michael and Lucifer were twins and older than Castiel by eleven months. This meant that they were all in the same grade, since Michael and Lucifer were born in September and Castiel was born in August of the next year."
A high school AU in which Michael is courting Dean, but Castiel is sure that Dean is his one true mate.
