It's a great deal lighter than its predecessor, though with heavy elements of angst. It may not be strictly necessary to have read Felix Culpa, though I imagine you will confused for the first few chapters.
SPOILERS FOR FELIX CULPA IN SUMMARY: After fleeing from Kirkwall together, Fenris and Hawke find themselves faced with attempting to establish trust and intimacy in a relationship built on a foundation of deceit and betrayal.
