Shortly after Odin’s death, word reaches Asgard that Jötunheim has a new king as well, one with a life-changing demand if there is to be continued peace between the realms. Unwilling to ask his brothers to make such a sacrifice, Thor is left with no choice but to give up his freedom to secure the safety of his people. More than that, though, he discovers he may just have to give up his sense of self, as well.

Summary
The War between Jotunheim and Asgard didn't go as predicted and Odin was killed. Laufey offers peace if Frigga hands over her only daughter, Thora as the spoils of war, when she comes of age.
Frigga agrees and Asgard is spared. Thora knows that it is her good behaviour in Jotunheim that will ensure Asgard's safety. She will endure, but she won't break.
Loki Laufeysson, the Crown Prince of Jotunheim, is only interested in gaining Asgard and somehow falls upon the idea that maybe having Thora Odinsdottir around will be the means to do it.

Loki is smitten the first time he meets Thora Odinsdottir, but has enough experience to see that there's something cracked and fragile about her. This makes him hold back from showing his affections until Thora's life explodes, making it necessary for their circle of friends to step in and for Loki to finally admit and act on how deep his feelings for Thora really go.

Steve is attracted to Thora, yet is reluctant to pursue her, due to her reminding him too much of Peggy Carter. It doesn't stop him from becoming friends with Thora and falling for her. Still, he doesn't pursue her until Thora makes the first move and makes him realize he truly wants her, and not what she reminds him of.
