If it wasn’t for Ron’s voice providing a touch of humour and optimism, this fic would be unbearably dark (despite the moments of humour). As it is though it becomes darkly funny and very touching and well worth a read, especially for anyone who loves this pairing. Ron is wonderfully written and this version of Draco is so broken and defiant you just want to hug him.

The same telepath he met two years ago, who sat across a carved wooden chess set and offered Magneto the first friendly smile in a lifetime. The same telepath who still haunts his dreams.

A time travelling, action-adventure, romance-filled science fiction romp ensues when Ianto runs into Jack in the fifty-first century after an accident with a vortex manipulator. Laser blasters, alien dance clubs, mercenaries, a little too much public sex for Ianto's tastes, sneaky plans and circular logic can be found here. Set after Something Borrowed, but not particularly "AU" - it slots into season 2.
