Summary
Dean and Castiel have been together for almost a year when Dean leaves his hometown for army training, while Cas studies engineering at Harvard. Cas has scars left by his over-possessive and abusive ex boyfriend, Lucifer, who ended up shooting him just before last Christmas for leaving him for Dean. Eventually Dean gets sent off a war zone, in an attempt to make a difference in the world and please the pressure his Dad left on him before he died; putting his and Cas' relationship to the test, because Dean did not anticipate the scars the war would leave behind on him.
