At the beginning of September Taylor and Jordan are reunited in Edmonton but soon after the lockout forces them apart. Eventually Taylor gets medical clearance to practice down in OKC and moves back in with Jordan.
While Taylor is rehabilitating his shoulder after the previous year's season ending surgery he grows to realize his feelings for Jordan are entirely reciprocated, and their relationship evolves from a friends with benefits scenario into an established couple. The Barons' season opens with Taylor still sidelined; story culminates in Taylor's return to hockey and the trials of bringing their relationship public amongst their teammates.
