Summary
Since childhood, Sherlock Holmes and John Watson have had one recurring dream that is more vivid and lasting than any other they can remember. For Sherlock, it is of getting shot and dying in Afghanistan; John, of dying from an overdose in the A&E.
The dreams come and go with varying intensity, worsening as they both age except with slight reprieve during adolescence, and then - then, at their worst, returned army veteran John Watson finds himself staring straight at a man who should have died: his last patient assigned to him as an intern, Sherlock Holmes.

John wasn’t aware that the bloke was in the cafe, at first. He must have crept in during rush hour and claimed a small table in the corner. It was all very dramatic looking: his dark curls, silver eyes expertly highlighted with eyeliner, and a wardrobe consisting of tight leather, gorgeous bone structure, and a wicked piercing. The shadows did a brilliant job of making him look like he walked out of a vampire novel. “Can I get you anything?” John asked. The teen slowly looked up and smirked.
