I'd have put it in with my other ficlets/drabbles/whatever, only this one has its own chapters. Anyway it isn't that long. And it's my first time writing for both Varric and Aveline, so... nervous!

Wesley lives and Aveline is the one infected with the taint, perishing in Lothering. This is a series of encounters between Hawke and Wesley as they go start new lives in Kirkwall. Hawke is a charming/diplo mix with a tendency to use whatever she needs to get her way. Wesley is deeply unhappy in Kirkwall, not only missing Aveline but feeling alienated within the Order.
