When Derek inhales deeply, searching underneath Stiles' natural scent and the bitter smell of pain and busted blood vessels, he catches a whiff of another wolf. A few seconds is all it takes for Derek to identify the perpetrator and this time, he doesn't bother reigning in the roar bursting forth.
