Summary
Charles and Erik meet on a warm evening in August when one of them jumps off a boat into the sea to save the other from certain death. Soon, there are many innocent people involved in Erik's revenge and they all must make choices for their lives. Two years later, Erik and Raven return to the gothic mansion and are surprisingly met with open arms. Among it all is Charles's personal fights with society over mutants, people of color, homosexuals, and disabled people. The CIA comes for them soon enough and again they all are forced to make hasty decisions for survival.

Charles once dated Gabrielle Haller, but he broke it off after an accident. A year later, she calls him to tell him he has a son. He battles for custody and just manages to win full rights to David, along with a restraining order for Gabrielle. Charles anxiously waits for the day he can pick David up from the boys' home in NY, and when the day comes, he and Erik are busy recruiting. This is where their story begins.

Summary
Erik Lehnsherr is a renowned homicide detective, with his husband Charles at home and his partner on the job, Moira MacTaggert. When a twisted serial killer starts targeting mutants, Erik and Moira are the perfect team for the job, especially since Erik himself is the mutant poster-boy of an NYPD trying to improve their image.
But what they don't yet know is that the serial killer is an old soul out of Erik's past, and his next move is to pull Charles into his web.

Summary
Moira fired seven shots that day on the beach and Erik deflected five of them with ease. The sixth, however, was the one that made the entire world slow down as blood began to stain Charles' stomach. It was enough of a distraction that he barely felt the seventh bullet nor did he care what happened to it. Charles reached with bloodstained hands to remove the helmet just in time to tell Erik Sleep. When Erik woke up he could no make himself look Charles in the eye and he hid his thoughts behind the helmet. When he finally admitted to himself how much Charles meant to him, he was welcomed with open arms and forgiveness. However, they forget that just because they are hiding they cannot be found and that fear makes rational men do desperate things.
