Summary
Zim blinked for the first time since the first firework had flashed across the azure sky. His hand felt warm, and there was pressure there that normally wouldn't be. He glanced down and saw Dib had grabbed his gloved appendage with his own. An antenna perked in confusion. This was significant somehow.
Somehow…Only he didn't know why. So he left it.
Zim didn't make a move to pull away nor did he attempt to return the gesture.
Dib was in heaven.

When Zim's eyes encounter a malfunction, and cease to work, he's trapped in a world of utter isolation and blackness. Waiting, unable to leave lest he put his own life in jeopardy, he sits in a near-silent darkness. But nobody comes. At least, nobody expected.

Zim is Dib's "First" Everything; from his first fist fight, to his first kiss. To begin with, there was hatred. That somehow transformed into some sort of twisted kind of devotion. Friendship comes next. And now with Zim's PAK faulty, and Dib's therapist being a real bee with an itch...the only thing they have left to rely on is the one thing they've had since day one: Loyalty.
