Summary
Dave finds it’s hard to face Rose sometimes. Never when they focus on her, when he’s gotten her under him in some way with his hands and tongue every last place he can think of. He wants to see her face and how it moves, just like he wants to see how her body moves against him.
It’s when she turns the tables and makes it all about him that he doesn’t know how to take the darkened shade of her eyes.

‘Until next time, dear brother.’ The words echoed in his head like a broken record, and he wondered when it was the last time he heard her talking. His ears could only hear the sounds of her moan, pant, groan, hiss, and scream.

"I can't help but wonder,
Will you recognize my face?
I hope so...
Here it's perfectly dark."
- Lazarus Phenomenon, Bike for Three!A chance encounter on an airplane, along with an uninvited vision, leads Rose and Dave to share a hotel room for a week's span while they untangle a mystery: the memories that don't make sense, the frightening sense that they aren't who they think they are, and most disturbingly the illogical connections of thier work to an impending threat which cannot be stopped - and indeed, is already here.

Post-Scratch fic written after a prompt request that simply asked for Derscest. I've done my best. -

Summary
Your name is Rose Lalonde or Dave Strider, you are beyond the point of denial that you are hopelessly in love with your ectosibling, you are not nearly as disturbed as you should be, and your heart (if you ever had one, you think) is breaking from promises never spoken that will never come true.

If reincarnation is real, then what about the friends you leave behind when you're reborn into your next life?
Have you ever felt... that your life was, somehow, missing something? Something really important?
That there's an emptiness gnawing at you, and you don't know why?

"Do you think we're all alone, here?" she asks, despairingly, her hand immediately finding his. A solid anchor in an otherwise uncertain future. -

Summary
Dave takes you up on the roof that night and after you’ve worked up a sweat, he lets you trace the scars on his body and tells you the stories of how they happened. The long, brutal line down his right calf is from a dog attack. You count the dots on either side from the stitches and he lies with his feet in your lap looking up at the stars, quiet and somber and when you don’t talk for a long while he starts to sing and it feels a lot nicer than anything you’ve felt in a while.
Or, Dave copes, Rose deals, and no one really lives.

“Not the point. I’m not bidding for your sympathy. I’m just saying, you think you’re damaged goods. I’m,” she says, and swallows. “I’m not a very easy person to love, Dave.”
“You reckon?” he says. “I been managing just fine for years.”

You tell him he can look, and he does, and you wish you hadn’t insisted he take off his shades. His eyes wander over your body, and right away, you can tell there is something distinctly not-right about the way he is looking at you.
