Arthur wished the latest sorceress had given him a pair of donkey's ears, or made everyone's hair fall out. Camelot, its long-suffering inhabitants and its King, were used to such magical mishaps. They could deal with it. Cursing Merlin with walking, talking ejaculations with a duty to report to Arthur each time Merlin decided to have a wank was irritating on a previously unknown scale. It was out of the ordinary, even for Camelot.

Hadrian prematurely learns of the Magical World and with the assistance of an odd old man, Hadrian uses his innate ability over Shadow magic to conceal himself from anyone not specifically seeking him out. He becomes an inconspicuous child among the masses, only seen when particularly sought out. As this tale unfolds, Hadrian becomes the target of much Paranormal Activity, which draws the interest of many people, some good, some bad and some very dangerous.
