‘Mikey stops taking his pills the day after Gerard takes all of his at once.
It’s a beginning of sorts.’Out in the zones, there’s very little holding Gerard together – Mikey is trying his best, but something’s been praying on Gerard’s mind for years and even he isn’t sure what it is, apart from the nightmarish flashes of dark eyes watching him.
They’re doing almost alright until the roadhouse run by the semi-legendary ex-Zonerunner Jet Star is hit by a BL/ind patrol and Gerard and Mikey finally decide to let someone else run with their crew in order to help track down the kidnapped motorbaby Grace.
However, it isn’t until they make a shocking discovery during an attack by the sinister masked Draculoids that they can even begin to find what they’re each looking for…

Pete sprays graffiti, the Ways own a comic store and 'The true and fabulous lives of the Killjoys' are a metaphor more often than not.
“Yeah. Gerard killed Party Poison and well, Gerard is Party Poison,” Pete answers, shrugging. Mikey smiles, even if he doesn’t want to. Pete was worried. “Also; Party Poison and Kobra Kid?” Pete says and Gerard gives him a look. “They're totally doing it, right?” he asks. Gerard looks shocked and Mikey has no idea what he's supposed to feel. He knows he didn't expect Pete to say that, knows Gerard didn't either.
“No!” Gerard says and Pete gives him a look.
“But they are in love,” Pete states. It's not a question. Pete is sure of this, Mikey realises. He looks over to Gerard.
“He's not...they are not...” Gerard stammers, “They are not, Mikey.” Pete looks confused. “It's how they are,” Gerard adds, looking at Mikey. His fingers twisted in his shirt.
“I know,” Mikey answers. -

Nobody survives in the desert very long.
There's still two rounds in his shotgun, and he chambers them, planting his feet. He's been walking for days, bruised up and beaten half dead.
They'd given him his exit from the gang in kicks to the ribs and a concussion, a black eye and a few scrapes. He's healing up, now. Well, sort of. Not exactly.
He blinks through his hair, and tosses it back, eying the dust covered Camaro as it pulls up alongside him. It's worse for wear, dark against the midday glare of the desert. The windows are mostly blacked and Tommy can't see inside until it's even with him, the passenger door thrown open.
Even then, there's nothing but a shadow of a figure and a few words over the rumble of the idling engine.
"Get in the car."
