Summary
Human life means nothing in the eyes of gods and men.
It is something Sansa has known for as long as she thinks she has known anything, since her betrothed chopped off the head of her father, her father who was a man more devoted to gods and men than anyone she had known. It was a lesson taught to her daily as she was held captive in King’s Landing, when she had to watch, with stony face and hard heart, as Joffery beat and killed men, men who had done nothing to deserve such punishment. It was drilled into her head during years of war, repeated when she herself was involved in the murder of a King, a simple fact that has had a stronger presence than any in her young life -- that all men must live as all must must die, and in the end they die as easy as they are born.

Summary
She used to always wear her red hair up in braids, in the Southron styles which were so appealing to her, used to always want to be a Queen (she got that wish, though he can hardly imagine how little she wanted it, to rule over these zombies, the living dead of the North). She used to dress in fancy styles, in clothes which she sewed herself, painstakingly over the light of the fire with her Septa. She used to sing songs of love and romance, and light used to sparkle in her clear blue eyes -- clear blue like Robb’s, but not as strong, always softer, sweeter, more docile, more afraid. She was a child, a child with dreams and hopes and love, nothing more, never anything more.
And then she rides out to meet him at the gates herself atop her horse, and no one could mistake her for a child now.

Summary
They stand on the precipice of eternity, hands clasped, not speaking, never making a sound. There are moments when he thinks she may not even be breathing, not really, but he will see the rise and fall of her chest and know she’s still there, still with him. They stand on the precipice of something new, a place unknown and unheard of, and though he thinks she must be scared, there is nothing but a fire in her eyes unlike any other. The last two wolves, and what an ironic choice the gods have made in their victors -- if that is what they can be called.
Not victors, survivors, he thinks, for if they have learned anything, it is how to best survive. How to survive, and how to destroy.

Summary
She sits atop her throne of ice, feet numb, shadows under her eyes, hands shaking ever so slightly.
She was not made for this. Despite what Joffery and Sandor and everyone always told her, Sansa isn’t stupid. Not really. She knows what life she was meant for, a life of a lady, a life of needlework and smiling pretty and pleasing her husband with gentle words and a shared bed. This life was meant for Robb, for Bran, for Rickon, for Arya, for Jon, even. This life was meant for her father, someone strong, someone brave, someone who was not her.
Sansa knows.

Summary
"It is, after all, one of the privileges of rank that I may behave quite shockingly, and there is no one here to reprimand me for it - well, apart from you, that is."
