There is only so long he can spend drinking his sorrows away before his liver eventually calls it a day and fucks off to liver-heaven. Or something. Erik doesn't understand why Charles left him, or why he thinks he was sleeping with someone else. it was like he had vanished from the face of the planet the moment he had walked out the door. Which made the fact that Erik had only been working late to save up for the best, handmade engagement ring money could buy sting just that little bit more. He'd designed it to be perfect, and he still hadn’t saved up enough to get the guy in Argentina to even consider making it yet. Not that Charles knew that... Oops.

From birth he had been told stories about that mysterious boy called The Prince, or his Betrothed, and who one day would be called Husband. Charles would catch his thoughts drifting off while in private lessons under strict, stoic tutors, learning the piano under painful raps to the knuckles, locked away, looking at the sun through stained glass, his mind slipping into the hazy day dream of his life yet to come...

In the near future there was War, a war between humanity and mutants.
Charles Xavier has had enough of his children dying, enough of blood and tears, enough of being too weak to help those who pleaded for him to save them. When he discovers the body of the man who he had once held dear to his heart he loses the will to surive. Giving up on the world that was already dying around him, he knew that it would only be a matter of time anyway.
How was he to know that dying was the only way to save those he held dear? To save the future he had once believed in? But what future does he seek now? Not of peace…that was a dream for an optimistic fool. Not of a full blown war, he’d lived and died already from that.

Summary
Charles never avoids contact that comes from her. Raven never avoids any contact that comes from him, in return. And truth be told, it confuses and leaves Erik perplexed. He is well-aware of sibling affection and how brothers and sisters interact, but their communication, their bond just throws him off-balance.
