Summary
Season four takes a lot from Jensen: his girl, his sanity, his ability to know where Dean ends and Jensen begins. It almost takes his best friend away too, but he and Jared find their way back. Jensen's got an empty apartment, and Jared's got a house that's always been a home, so Jensen moves back in and life returns to normal. Jensen and Jared, taking on the Supernatural and the Greater Vancouver Area.
Four years later, filming of season eight starts with a bang—casual liaisons in the foyer, blinding jealousy, girls and dogs and drama, oh my. Jared's hiding something, smiling way too much, and obsessing over an extra light switch in the living room. And Jensen? Well, Jensen's realizing that he might be falling in love.
It's messy, but no big deal. Things are good.
Mostly.
Really.
So long as Jensen can survive it with his sanity—and his heart—intact.

Jensen hates superheroes. Having grown up with not one, but two, of them in the family, he's more than aware of just how much having a spandex-clad alter ego can cock up the rest of your life. Luckily, his own powers tend towards the more passive, hippie florist side of things which - while embarrassing - means that all that superhero crap is someone else's problem.
Or it would, if not for the frequent interference of superhero-obsessed friends, hostage situations, hotshot new superheroes and irritating relatives. Not to mention a boyfriend who has the uncanny ability to go missing whenever bad things are going down somewhere else in the city.
Sometimes, Jensen's life is kind of bullshit.

Jared falls for the surly hacker with silvery polycarbon lenses covering his eyes and Jensen slowly warms to the kid whose loyalty has cost him an arm. Their routine work is interrupted when Jared's former partner is found dead. That sets off a chain of events revealing details of a hacker resistance, a corporate conspiracy and the strange code protecting LenCorp's servers that forces Jensen to run and decide who he can trust.

Jared, Monarch of Valdesco, did not want to get married. He especially didn't want a political marriage to someone who was part of the negotiations for peace. There was no way he could deal with a spouse whose culture was completely alien to his own.
Jensen Ackles was appalled to be the War Prize his country offered up as reparations. He sincerely did not want to go from being the High Chief's youngest son to being without status. And mostly, Jensen did not want to live in a country that was so technologically advanced that he had no hope of beginning to understand it.
But, like a lot of things in life, neither one of them was going to get a choice about it.
