Summary
It started slowly, which is why it took so long for anyone to catch on to the changed relationship. At the same time, it started very quickly, which is why no one could quite pin down when it was that Tony Stark and Clint Barton - strangers until that first battle together - had looked at each other and connected.
Written for the prompt at avengerkink Round 13: Clint/Tony, nobody saw it coming.

Summary
The Avengers get themselves turned into children, which is when the villians decide to pop out of the woodwork.
SHIELD agents earn their pay by neutralising the multiple threats but unfortunately that leaves nobody to care for the kids - until Tony finds Loki locked up in the Helicarrier.
Cue babysitter!Loki, who may have his own agenda but who certainly won't let harm come to his new charges. Also cue a very confused Fury, who cannot believe this nonsense.

Posted for this prompt: Unbeknownst to the others, Bruce and Clint have a 'panic room' in the tower. It's where the two of them, who grew up with extremely abusive, alcoholic fathers, hide out when Tony's really wasted.
This could be read as gen with a rather handsy, mean drunk Tony or as Bruce/Tony with a slice of onesided Clint/Bruce, depending on how firmly affixed your slash goggles are.

Avengerkink prompt:
"Sometime post-movie, Loki has teamed up with another villain and is happily (and quite effectively) wreaking havoc on the city. That is until one of his new ally's attacks nearly takes out a child (or group of children?). It could be that this triggers memories of losing his own kids or seeing them suffer, or it could just be that he's totally not ok with kids being part of the collateral damage. In any case, he either diverts the attack or shield's the child from it. And then proceeds to completely obliterate his no-longer-ally.
The Avengers get a look at Protective!Daddy!Loki, and learn that it is a truly terrifying thing.
For an interesting twist, I wouldn't mind reading something similar but with it being one of the Avengers who nearly hits the kid. Maybe the kid steps out into the line of fire or they just don't see him/her until it's too late. They have a moment of ice-cold horror when they realise what they've done before Loki swoops in and saves the day."
