After surviving the run through the Omega 4 Relay, Elise Shepard returns to the Alliance to try and minimise the fallout from her involvement in the destruction of Alpha Relay and the Bahak System. Her subsequent imprisonment leaves certain crew members at somewhat of a loss as to what to do with themselves.
Zaeed Massani, spending his days doing his best to piss off Cerberus, receives an anonymous message one evening with a collection of rather interesting and deeply personal video recordings. What he does with them is of course up to him.

Shepard and Kaidan are having an affair in the months after the battle of the Citadel, an illegal one at that. They don't care about what they're doing, too wrapped up in them.
Something has to give. In another life it was a Collector ship. In this life, they never expected it to be this. It all ends not in the sinking of a ship, but in a door left unlocked and a Navigator named Charles Pressly.
The ones that were supposed to die, live, and the ones who were meant to live, die. Shepard and Kaidan have to come to terms with what that means for themselves and their relationship.
Shepard drifts in and out of his life like a ghost and two years of missing time is filled.

“I never, ah… I never said I loved you, just…” Kaidan sighed and brushed off his uniform with a napkin, distracting himself from looking into Shepard’s eyes. “I just, well… Look, Commander, I’m not exactly the most experienced at this stuff, you know? I just know I think about you, and when I see you I get this feeling in my stomach that… That if I don’t get you, if I don’t have you, I’m just going crazy.”
