    Summary

A Roman general acquires a new sex slave. A novel-length m/m historical fiction with gobs of sex, plot twists, angst, humor and intrigue. While nearly all details are historically accurate and the story is tied to major historical events and prevailing cultural attitudes during the reign of the Emperor Trajan, the tale is entirely fictional and the dialogue is deliberately modern.

Disclaimer: This is a work of historical fiction. Names, characters, and events are the product of an overactive imagination and watching too many movies. Any resemblance to actual or cinematic events or persons is entirely coincidental. Incidents of violence within are not condoned, but merely represented to illustrate the harsh reality of what was Rome. The song lyrics used within did not influence the story, but were selected carefully to go along with the storyline.
Story is presented in both diary, first-person action, and third person recollection format.

    Summary

The soldiers looked on nervously, the townsfolk amusedly. Can Alexander become the king of Asia if he cannot untie the Gordian knot? All the men were doubtful, except for Hephaistion, who remembered all too clearly how Alexander had obtained a certain prize in their childhood.

“My lord, for all your love for Iskander, will you not save him?”

Bagoas had served Alexander for many years, and had come to witness and accept the relationship between the king and his favourite. Summary

There is a secret Rider has, and that is that he can access his ultimate Noble Phantasm without manifesting it into the world around him. Such is the beauty of a reality marble. Waver takes no notice when Alexander sits down and withdraws into himself - he is already fast asleep, having crawled into bed and cast a spell for dreamless sleep moments after they returned from Caster’s workshop.

Within moments of stepping into his camp, Rider is overwhelmed by familiar faces rushing to him, and he greets them all in turn. To five messengers, he asks that his best generals, bodyguards, second self, wife and friends be gathered for a symposium in his own tent, and they all disappear without asking for specific names. The king’s confidants do not need to be named, only gathered.

My king, do not think that my dedication to you and your cause has diminished. But, even if I die for it, my dignity will not bow to your pride.

Even friendship had its limits and Alexander’s words, “Without me, you are nothing”, had cut Hephaistion deep.

    Summary

My subject in this tale is the life of Alexander the King. The career of this man embraced such a multitude of events that my preamble shall consist of nothing more than this one plea: if I do not record all his most celebrated achievements that you not regard this as a fault. Plutarch, Life of Alexander

Alexander at the tomb of Achilles: Oh fortunate youth, to have found Homer as the herald of your glory! Cicero, Pro Archia

With love and undying fame at stake, Alexander takes matters into his own hands.
