Duo is breaking beneath the weight of all of the sins he bears, unable to cope with all of the blood guilt on his soul. They both are desperate to find an outlet for their living nightmares. Redemption is a whipping post, a hair shirt, a long line of flagellants waiting to be punished. Redemption can only be achieved through pain.
When they crash into each other's lives like so many waves into the sand, will they be polished into glass or destroyed beneath the onslaught?

Duo Maxwell has had better days. Years, come to think of it. Probably better lifetimes too because this one sure ain't a shining example of the stellar. But it could be worse. He's got a Gundam to pilot, gets to blow stuff up every day, and routinely does not have to pay bills. Even has a team (sort of) to pitch in with the dirty work. The bad guys are bad, the good guys are good, and he hasn't died a virgin. Yet. There are no dark undercurrents, no deadly complications, just good, old fashioned Gundams vs. Oz for the maidenly honor of the colonies. Everything is what it seems to be.

Summary
Life after wartime is different but not easier. Relena tries to control an unruly ESUN, and Heero and Wufei work world security with the Preventers, still led by Une. The rest of the pilots go their own way -- Quatre learning the ropes of the family business from his sisters, Duo working in space salvage, and Trowa heading to university. It's uneasy but at least it's peace.
After an unexpected and violent terrorist attack on the Mars terraforming project involves a Gundam, the pilots are grounded -- tagged, chipped, and told to remain on Earth until the attack can be solved. Duo is the only one that runs. Wufei wants to know why, Heero just wants to be the first to find him, and everyone's personal relationship drama gets in the way.
