Summary
The virus works by going through the blood stream and killing the human brain and heart. Once the human is dead, Sol-5 takes control of the body, creating a zombie. The virus cannot take over an already dead human - the host has to be alive in order to be dead.
Castiel Novak thought he was dead - until he is saved by a group of survivors, led by Dean Winchester, and his small unit of survivors. As the virus takes over the U.S., Castiel learns the valuable meaning of what it means to be alive - and what love mixed with chaos creates.
