Summary
So I have a prompt list. Several actually. And every day I write a short story based off my prompt word/phrase of the day.
All of them are Silmarillion-related (dips into The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings here and there).
Expect everything ranging from utterly cliche romance to mildly explicit gore and horror. No one ever said Arda was a nice place.
But do note that I won't be posting any smut here. Prompts are meaningful snapshots, and unless the sex is really important, I'll be skipping it to get to the point.

Summary
Melpomaen is a reborn elfling. He has two fathers because Saruman cursed one of them to fall pregnant to the next elf they saw - that unfortunate elf was Legolas. Mel was born with all his father, Erestor's, memories and intelligence and causes mayhem wherever he goes. He is probably the cutest, naughtiest and baddest elfling anywhere and yet he steadfastly refuses to believe he is anything but well behaved. Erestor is the only elf to have ever suffered a migraine; he hopes they will go when Mel is fifty and leaves home.
Wherever Mel goes there is uproar. Things become worse when he finds out that the Valar have already assigned him a soul mate and that a new baby brother is on the way, who is also reborn. Who are Mel's first set of parents and why does Saruman want to capture him. How did Mel manage to stab the wizard in the eye with an arrow and why is Sauron so interested in him? Also, why have the Valar assigned Gandalf to be his guide?
The story follows Mel as he grows, until he becomes an adult, finding out about his true origins on the way. Will he choose to be good or will he embrace evil? It could go either way.

Of him the flighty Tehta sings.Tolkien seems to have found figuring out Gil-Galad's paternity particularly difficult. Who was Gil-Galad's father, really? Was it Fingon? Finrod? Orodreth? (Which Orodreth?) Cirdan? It is an interesting question, and one this fic completely fails to answer. It does, however, answer the question of who his mother was. Anyway. Warning for, um, authorial self-insertion.

A fill for the Hobbit Kink-Meme
Prompt: AU Thorin witnesses Bilbo using the ring and supports his use of it. At least before an accident causes it to fall in the fire and bring ancient writing across the band. After discovering what the ring really is the party decides to halt their current mission to destroy the ring before it regains it's true power. Bilbo thinks he'll be useless without it but Thorin believe otherwise. Because of this everything changes not just the fate of the ring but their friendship morphs into something else.

Pairing: Elf/Elf or Elf/Man
Story elements: For me the most rewarding gift is not the heavy-sweaty part, but the sincere relationships that evolve between characters, sharp and clever dialogue, unique characterizations especially if canon is vague on the details. Give me a story about someone who loves someone they shouldn't but loves them anyway--for myriad reasons other than blind passion (though, of course, that's part of it). I would love to see a relationship evolve over some time or a snapshot of a relationship at its most difficult and rewarding points. Consider: why do we love who we love even when we don't want to? What makes us resist? What makes us give in? On the mechanical side: smooth, lean prose is always appreciated.
