Darcy stumbles back as girl!Loki lets go. She’s standing on a mountainside, she’s pretty sure she remembers her current landscape from a scene from the Heidi movie, it’s freezing, and her supervillain kidnapper is daintily seating herself on the grass with unexpected grace for someone dressed in full armour.
Girl!Loki, apparently having gotten herself all comfortable, smiles up at Darcy with a sunny, benevolent expression that is almost creepier than Loki’s usual creeper smile. But only almost. Nothing quite trumps the 'hello, I will be your serial killer for today!' smile.
In which Darcy is kidnapped by Loki, but things are not as they seem.

As, between the stars, there are black holes that take in light and matter and leave only darkness, there was once a place beneath the waves that stripped away humanity and left only greed. A place that gave epithets and discarded names like so much rubbish.
It was rightly forgotten and left behind to devour itself in an act of appropriate entropy. Yet, like all mysteries of the past, hints remain. Echoes. Shadows. Fossils.
After all, every dying monster leaves something behind. Every behemoth’s corpse eventually shows its bones.

Dabbling in everything from security to science to sustainable fuels, one of the most powerful corporations in the universe is actually run by a decent human being. Which is good, as dangerous work is usually the only kind of work mutants can get.
James Logan is the somewhat grizzled mutant captain of The Jubilation Lee, a female Leviathan in Stark's fleet, 'piloted' by Logan's own daughter, Laura (the girl and the alien have been bonded since infancy). His crew is charged with the somewhat routine task of protecting a Stark-employed archeologist, Dr. Jane Foster, as she works on a remote planet. When Jane, Laura, and most of Jane's work are stolen, however, Stark charges Logan with getting them back, and the captain doesn't need to be told twice. What he doesn't count on is Jane's assistant Darcy Lewis demanding to come along for the hunt, as well as the archeologist's tall, unsettling alien boyfriend...

As long as he can fake a smile, he's absolutely fine.
