Steve had things under control; his status was his own secret, and so long as he was alpha enough to lead the team on the battlefield, he could fit himself quietly into the cracks for the rest of the time. No need to fight anybody for dominance, because the serum's gift of full control over his status and sexuality meant he could be as neutral as a child when he wanted to be. Which mostly, he did. He kept the past in the past, and his junk in his pants, and called it success, but life, biology, and luck have a way of bringing hidden things to the surface, and the truth about Steve's status is the very least of the secrets about to come bubbling to the surface.

Short summary: This is a story where everyone starts by pushing each other way, and ends up by living happily ever after. It's a story where Loki has to work for his happy ending, because you shouldn't be able to go around calling people "puny mortals" and trying to kill them and such, and then immediately get welcomed back and loved by the Avengers. And Tony has to work for his too, because being rich, talented and charismatic shouldn't automatically get you everything you want.
It's also a story with a major Hulk-rampage in it. But that's not for a while.

Steve got really popular over the summer and doesn't understand why (Bucky says it's the growth spurt and the fact that he's Gryffindor's star Quidditch player). Coulson is just trying to get by but really.. he gets involved in way too much drama, and Headmaster Nick Fury wonders what he did in a previous life to deserve all these motherfuckers in his motherfucking school.
