Nowadays, it's hard to imagine what this future might be like, had he just left him there, bleeding on the ice.Families, like futures, are something you sometimes find yourself falling into, whether or not it was your intention at the start.
(Spoilers for the end of Bastion. Both ends.)
For optimal enjoyment, I recommend listening to Gotye while reading this, which is what I wrote it to. Specifically, "Bronte" and "Hearts a Mess".
