Summary
Balthier and Al-Cid make a bet regarding Ashe and something about which she says she has never had quite enough; she is likely to find that it is best to be wise with one's wishes, for they might be granted.

Summary
Basch wakes up warm and fuzzy-headed, and achy in that way that means he had a damn good time last night. He sighs contentedly, stretches as much as he has room for, and opens his eyes to see who's sleeping on his arm.

Summary
When he takes off his helmet, he can hear music from behind the house, and voices. He leaves the helmet with the bike, runs his hand through his hair, and unzips his jacket as he starts down the slope.
It's not the kind of party he's expecting.

Summary
Balthier has yet to inquire, but he would be surprised indeed if neither Fran nor Ashe has felt the same impulse he has, to slide between the captain's sheets and wake him with something rather more friendly than a hand on his shoulder.

Summary
Set in Archades, an alternate universe tale where Ffamran never ran away to become Balthier. Following canon events, Basch assumes his brother's role and meets a young, aristocratic and blind Ffamran Mid Bunansa.

Summary
“His name truly is Balthier, and he is in turns an idiot, a showman, a thief, a hopeless romantic, the luckiest man in Ivalice and simply too stupid to die.”

Summary
Cid disapproves of young men wearing jewelry, beyond a dog-tag, that is. Cid disapproves of young men with perfect nails, even if Balthier's do have a dark line of grease caught under them. Cid disapproves of young men wearing skin-tight black leather pants and bending over his baby's bright heart like that; Cid disapproves of gay floral vests where a tasteful little pinstripe print would do; Cid disapproves of multi-tonal blonde hair that's more artifice than actuality. Cid disapproves of a perfectly clean shave, and Cid disapproves of the undeniable vanity of such nastily thin, smirky little excuses for sideburns. Muttonchops, yeah: now that's how a man grows sideburns.

What if Ashe had chosen differently atop the Pharos, and instead heeded the Occuria and cut a shard from the Sun-Cryst?

Notes
An alternative to canon; it's not sad, but it does feel grim, in the best way. There's an inevitable parallel to nuclear deterrence lurking here.

Summary
Somewhat bored with that comfortable numbness he wears, raiment as thick and unwieldy as the mantle of his duty, you are unremittingly bored with his lack of acknowledgement. You would think the man only wanted you for your ship.

Summary
After the war, Ashe is preparing to become queen, but there are many treacherous political waters to navigate first: proving her fitness to sit the throne, balancing Dalmascan independence with Empires on either side, settling the question of who will rule Nabradia. Into this situation steps a new ally: Al-Cid Margrace. Al-Cid is dealing with a political morass of his own; although many within Rozarria are relieved to have stayed out of active hostilities, others had hoped to weaken Archadia and expand into new territory for the first time in fifty years -- and chief among the latter faction is the crown prince. Together and separately, Ashe and Al-Cid set out to discover new truths and forge new alliances on their path to a peaceful Ivalice.
And then Balthier reappears, to throw all of Ashe's plans and emotions into disarray.

Apparently, a man running down the street in the nude was a rarity even in a pirate's stronghold. Some people looked scandalized, others amused, and some, quite a significant number actually, looked delighted.

Summary
Balthier takes us on a tour of Ivalice, from the Westersands to Giruvegan, and not-so-gently guides Vaan into sky piracy the best way he knows how. Which apparently includes a fair bit of leering combined with verbal abuse. Vaan is smarter than anyone suspects and Fran finds the whole thing incredibly amusing.
