AU -- That lockout never happened. Instead, both sides agreed a couple years ago to a radical new CBA, where the owners gave up a salary cap and the players surrendered themselves. There would be no limits on either contract length or size, but if a player had to be cut from the roster before fulfilling its term, he would owe the team the balance of his contract.
