Summary
Now when Marshall resented his brother's genius, it was because he knew how dependent he was on it – on him. So yes, Marshall knew that Louis was special, better, separate. The real problem was that Louis knew it too.

Summary
There's a place in Neal Caffrey's head where he doesn't have to lie to himself or be three steps ahead of the other guy, but so far only Peter has found it -- and Peter won't give him what he really wants. Elizabeth, meanwhile, is slowly adjusting to the idea of abetting felons...
This story basically follows S1 with a twist. I've lifted a few scenes from actual show dialogue, occasionally altering it, and I've also mildly changed a few of the show's timelines to either make them make more sense or fit them into the story. It's probably best to think of this as an extremely mild AU.

Notes
Despite the author's listing it as a single story, it's really more an ongoing series and a W.i.P. Chapters 1-7 deal with events through the end of Season 1, and can stand on their own. Chapters 8-14 follow the first half of Season 2, and there will be more chapters to follow (probably posted after the end of Season 2).
I normally don't read W.i.P.s, and had this been labeled by the author as such I probably wouldn't have started reading it. However, I'm glad it *wasn't* labeled, 'cause I'm loving it.
