Arthur loves the tree. When it is to be cut down, he goes to live in it.
Written for this KMM prompt:Arthur loves the ancient oak near his school. When it is to be cut down to make way for a new road, he starts to campaign against it and in the end he camps next to it every day. One night when he sneaks home because of the bad weather, the tree is hit by lightning and splits in two. When Arthur gets there in the morning, there is a naked, unconscious boy of his own age in the split tree.
Only I've changed the tree to a yew, as very old oaks tend to rot inside, which would make it difficult for Merlin to be inside it.
