This started as my 2012 NanoWrimo project, inspired by an RP a friend and I had been toying with but never really got around to finishing.
It's a "What If...?" based on the idea of "What if Diana and Orin were forced to get over their differences resulting from the Amo-Atlantian War of the Flashpoint arch?" Diana reaches out to Arthur for assistance when Themyscira is threatened, but ends up having to save him as a larger, more insidious plot unfolds.

I was intrigued with the Aquaman - Wonder Woman segment at the end of the Tower of Babel JLA collection. Especially given the later Aquaman/Wonder Woman moment that rated an entire page in the Divided We Fall collection. She seemed to know exactly who he was and what he'd done before she was even fully awake. Which got me thinking. This scene happens between the two collections. This story launched the entire series which is pretty much an angst fest--and an experiment in different POVs.
