It was still a success, General Flynn reminded himself. It had been worth it. They’d get the information they needed, and all of this would have been worth it. Abdul Ahad Kader was sent off to Guantanamo Bay on a non-stop service. Flynn watched as the dog handler received his own discharge papers and the survivors of that hellish week slowly left the service forever. It was worth it.
Except seven months later, they still didn't have the information they needed, and the five survivors were dying faster than they could be saved.
