Modern day AU fic prompted from the kinkmeme. Triggery, NSFW and probably far too much porn.
After suffering and surviving severe physical and psychological abuse, Anders' mind copes the only way it can - by sectioning off what happened and suppressing it. Now Anders, an ER doctor, remains oblivious to the torture he was subjected to and the lapses in his memory. When a slightly broody and strange man comes into his life, he falls head over heels infatuated. And it's returned.
But there's always something there, simmering beneath the surface, like his lover knows more about him than he's letting on and that his protective nature over him isn't entirely unjustified.
And there's someone waiting for him, itching for the perfect opportunity to escape and finish what they started.

Anders and Fenris were more similar than they liked to admit. They both sought the same thing, and they both thought Hawke could give it to them. And they were both so very, very wrong.
Mostly Fenris/F!Hawke/Sebastian triangle and eventual Fenders. Angsty, triggery, slightly AU in places, very depressing in others.
Kind of like a very long look at how Fenris and Anders' relationship evolves over DA2. Very, very dark, and a very toxic/volatile relationship.

Anders hated a lot of things about the Tower, but one of the ones that seemed the most utterly pointless to him was the way they weren’t allowed to observe their own birthdays, not really. They did, of course, but it had to be quick, surreptitious—they weren’t allowed to gather in groups for parties, and what sort of thing would they have given each other for presents, anyway? None of them had much, and most of what they did have was standard issue, the few personal possessions they’d managed to gather or hang onto far too precious to give away as gifts.
