The police only have so much to deal with in a town as small as this one. So, when Grantaire shows up to bail out his drunk friends, it's really only a matter of time before he sees Enjolras again. Of course, it may have taken longer if their friends didn't meddle, but they are les amis. Of course they're going to meddle.
Modern AU in which Enjolras, Marius, Jehan, Courfeyrac, Feuilly, and Musichetta are cops, Valjean is a police chief, Javert is a detective, Grantaire, Eponine, Montparnasse, and Bahorel aren't exactly model citizens, Joly is a coroner, and Musichetta owns a cafe/bar on the side, which Grantaire and Bossuet work at.

Derek Hale was ten when his twin sister Laura was kidnapped and killed by a serial killer known as The Wolf. For years, all Derek can think of is becoming a cop and catching the bastard, his dreams plagued by the killer refusing to take Derek in Laura's stead. As soon as he graduates high school, Derek enters the police academy and is partnered with Alan Deaton, the head of the years long investigation into The Wolf. After five years, they finally catch a trail; Deaton is killed, but Derek manages to incapacitate The Wolf, who is revealed to be his insane Uncle Peter, whom his family had thought perished in a fire many years prior. Derek personally escorts Peter to the madhouse, only to end up in a battle for his life while also protecting a small group of civilians who happened to be visiting people at the facility when the inmates stage a riot. In the bedlam, Derek finds himself at odds with one civilian (Chris), tentatively trusting another (Scott), and is oddly drawn to one in particular (Stiles). Regardless of party lines, Derek has one goal: eliminate The Wolf, and get the innocent out alive.

Starring members of Morning Musume as part of the newly re-structured Psych Special Operations Force, the elite arm of Psych Crime, and members of the OG in various cameo roles.
