He has technique, skill, efficiency, but he lacks passion, love, and creativity. He’s clean cut; professional, so he doesn’t know why this other man, this man who owns a dirty apron, and who wields a blunt knife, can best him at what he knows best.

"If he'd been around when Emma Lazarus had written that bit about giving her your tired and your poor, Sebastian Shaw would have added "and I will put them to work for as cheap as possible," instead of the part about the lamp and the golden door and liberty and everything." [Or, the one where Shaw is the tyrannical owner of an independent bookstore, Erik is one of the several employees who hates him, and Charles is far too determined for Erik's good.]

Summary
I'm working on another story where teenage Frank is like, "Man, fuck the Catholic church for telling me I'm not supposed to like cock." And while writing it, I got this image in my head of a different Frank, a Frank who, like, really had faith in God and who was struggling to be the kind of person the church would approve of.
I tried writing it, but quickly realized that it was just way too big for me. Like, if I actually tried to do it justice it would take me years, and I don't really have that sort of work ethic. So it became a not!fic. Yay?

I think this is best summarised by the prompt:
Brendon/Spencer - puppeteers operating a pair of puppet roommates (think Bert&Ernie) on an adult mixed-cast TV show (think Avenue Q as TV episodes or Sesame Street for adults - crossed with Friends? or The Big Bang Theory? or something else entirely more weed-fueled and surfing-tastic?). UST played out through their puppet alter-egos would be awesome. As would other wacky puppet-related shenanigans. And I am totally open to as much of the rest of bandom showing up as your little heart desires!

Summary
If life were fair, anyone who managed to survive the apocalypse would be given a fuzzy blanket, some tea, and a nice bed to hide under and weep.
Life is not fair, obviously, and there's no actual end to the end of the world. Instead, there's grief and pain and mud and death, there are minor miracles, and there's the love that gets you out of bed in the morning, despite everything. Life goes on.
