Pretty much what it says on the tin. If you've seen Disney's "Beauty and the Beast" you know pretty much exactly what you're getting into. Lots of fluff.

I've always loved a good fairy-tale retelling in fandom, and this one is SUPERB. Steve makes an awesome Belle, and all the steampunk bits pulled in are marvelous twists on the old tale of the beauty and the beast. Definitely a must-read!

"Somehow, Erik came to live in the branches of Charles' tree, even though he is a bird who should always want to roam the skies and Charles is a tree spirit who should fear Erik's fire.
Charles provides him shelter, giving him a home whenever he grows tired of flying and protection when Erik is vulnerable at his rebirth. In return, Erik protects Charles from lumbermen and other things that would do Charles or his tree harm.
Then there is Shaw, a hunter who is intent on capturing Erik. He would do anything to get his hands on a phoenix, even burn a whole ancient forest to the ground."
This didn't turn out exactly the way Anon asked for, but we hope you'll still like it.

Summary
Seeing is not the same as believing.Jared was passionate about the work he did with the animal shelter. Between that and living with Sandy, life was satisfactory. Until the cold night that the filthy, homeless man hidden in an oversized hoodie was dumped at the shelter and Jared couldn't just turn him out. Even if the man roared and called himself 'Beast.' Because under the hood, Jared was sure he caught a glimpse of a prince in those green eyes.
