    Summary

Alison Cheney’s been traveling with her robot and the Doctor for ten months. Despite a difficult start with two mind-fucks, she feels more confident than ever. She attributes a lot of that to the rule-bound relationship that she has negotiated with her robot, known to her as the Magister and to the Doctor as the Master. He’s teaching her how to be the master of her fate and the captain of her soul. She’s feeling pretty good…

--Until she starts having nightmares in which she dies and then her robot saves her life by robotifying her. But it’s not a good robotification; she’s miserable, objectified, and out of control. Her fear seeps out of her nights and ruins her days.

With the Magister and the Doctor’s assistance, Alison determines that she’s receiving distress signals from Bill Potts, a Black British woman like herself, who lives in an alternative universe. In this alternaverse, the Doctor is on their twelfth life, and Bill is their former companion. Trapped at the fast end of a space ship, Bill now works with the mysterious Razor to save herself and a city full of people from two of the cosmos’ deadliest foes: the Cybermen…and the Doctor. And Bill needs Alison’s help.

    Summary

Alison has had an uneven time with her robot ["the Magister" to her, "the Master" to the Doctor] and his inevitable spouse the Doctor. Yes, she met her robot and found in him a loyal partner and protector, but she also got mind-fucked twice by other aliens. She's sick of people barging into her head, and she needs to go home.

It's time for the Magister to leave too. As much as he loves the Doctor, he remains miserable at their control over him. If his choice to be with the Doctor is to mean anything, it must be fully informed and consensual. He must have the option to go.

The Doctor wants to give Alison a happy adventure for once, so they propose a farewell party for her and the Magister at the Floating Carnival, the universe's coolest fair. Since the inevitable spouses last went there before graduation from the academy, the place is charged with memories. The fact that it's currently run by the Stylist, an old frenemy of theirs, also complicates matters.

Let's just say that disentangling yourself from the Doctor is never easy.

Alison and the Magister, being kinky people with some idea of how to do BDSM safely, consensually, and enjoyably, loathe E.L. James' Fifty Shades trilogy on hearsay only. Then they start reading it. Well, that was a mistake.

    Summary

Alison hasn't been aboard Anima, the Doctor's TARDIS, for very long, just about two months. She set a contract and specific limits with both the Doctor and their robot ["the Magister" to Alison, "the Master" to the Doctor], so now she feels more comfortable with them. She's her Magister's Domina, and he has sworn to protect her and keep her safe. She finally thought that, with a robot on her side, she could become the captain of her fate and the master of her soul. She'd never be mind-fucked again!

...Except she is. It was a psychic vampire this time, an attack from which she also sustained a concussion. Something happened to her robot too. He's not around, and the Doctor isn't completely forthcoming about his condition. With the help of Scintilla, her robot's extremely perky and loquacious TARDIS, Alison searches for both answers and the robot. She learns a lot about herself, a lot about him, and a lot about the Doctor. This Domina/Magister thing also faces its first significant test.

    Summary

Alison Cheney, a Black British woman from Lannet, Lancashire, loves words, fairy tales, and, most of all, justice. A control freak and former barmaid who's experienced racism and sexism, she easily puts weirdos in their place while keeping her cool. But she joins the Doctor for adventure and ends up mentally violated by the Shalka instead. Exhausted and vulnerable, she wants control over her own life again, so she turns to the Doctor's evil robotic spouse . How will she obtain help from someone whose name she finds too objectionable to say?

The Master is bored. He has all the arrogance, acumen, charm, wit, and hamminess of old, but, since he can't leave the TARDIS, no audience besides the Doctor. Alison's arrival promises something novel: someone who knows exactly who he is, but still faces him without fear. What can he make of her?

    Summary

Alison Cheney and her partner Brad Doucette have a problem, which is, as Brad puts it, "Help -- the Master is literally a cat!" The three of them are waiting in orbit around Prrraurrr while the Doctor concludes a mediation. Prrraurrr is home to a fast-acting virus that transforms people into cats, so, if Alison and Brad stay off the planet's surface, they should be safe, right? And the Magister [Alison's name for him] is a robot, so he can't catch a virus, right?

Well...uh...apparently not. Somehow he comes down with the virus anyway. So now Alison and Brad have to deal with a VERY ENTHUSIASTIC robotic cat with opposable thumbs and a Doctor who didn't think to leave them any information about how to handle this sort of situation. Fortunately Lee Chang, a former companion of the Doctor's and sufferer of their well-meaning cluelessness, provides advice. Chin Lee, who has also had her own adventures with Time Lords, makes an appearance at the end.

    Summary

The Master invents super-advanced smart phones for himself, the Doctor, and Alison so they can communicate with each other anywhere in the universe. Alison's thrilled to communicate with the Master and the Doctor just as immediately as the two of them can through their psychic connection. The Doctor, meanwhile, discovers the joy of emojis. Unfortunately, they go overboard, and there's a whole big dramatic thing in which they're sure that they've damaged their robot and possibly Alison's brain, and the Master has to try to calm everyone down. Featuring an appearance by Imp, a flying cat constructed by the Master, who calls him "Useless Cat."

    Summary

Alison Cheney joined the Doctor aboard the TARDIS because she wanted to explore history and see new worlds. Her recent mind invasion by both the Shalka and a stone vampire has, however, taken its toll. She has been plagued by headaches, dizzy spells, and flashbacks. Once a barmaid skilled in dealing with all sorts of disruptive weirdos, she now avoids unpredictability and adventure by staying inside the ship.

A mission from the Time Lord Council to the planet Terripluvium challenges Alison's sense of safety. The Doctor must mediate between the Agricole and the Schuaschen, a species bred by the Agricole, who are now fighting for their independence. But the Doctor, incapacitated by allergies, lies unconscious in the Zero Room, recovering.

Alison has no interest in diplomacy, but her impulsive kindness to a Schuaschen puts her at the center of the conflict. Now completely out of her depth, she has only one person who can help her: the Doctor's robot, a sadistic master of mental manipulation, whom she cannot bring herself to address by name.

    Summary

Alison finds out why the Doctor's inevitable spouse, whom she calls the Magister, always wears gloves. Emily Dickinson's pain fetish, the personification of entropy, consensual housekeeping, eyebrow construction, and the rake handle in his arm also come up. You know -- just your everyday, run-of-the-mill chat between a human being and an evil alien super-powered robot.

The upside of a TARDIS is that it can go anywhere and any time you want. The downside is that it usually comes with Time Lords.

No point in history is as difficult to navigate as the history between the Doctor and the Master. Alison doesn't try. She just does her best not to be turned to dust.
