Originally a fill posted at norsekink in response to the prompt:
"After the Avengers capture Loki at the end of the movie, they lock him up as a precaution before shipping him off to Asgard. And being the good guys, they decide to give him the chance to bathe and dress in clean clothes instead of sleeping in his own dirty rags.
The problem is, without the whole battle gear and the drawn and mean look, Loki looks surprisingly young, which prompts the Avengers to ask Thor just how old Loki really is. Of course Loki is centuries old, but Thor tells them that in human standard, Loki would still be considered underage!
Cue to horrified Avengers who wants to know exactly what sort of crappy home life Loki must have had to end up like this before even reaching adulthood."
It rather spiralled from there into a behemoth, now in the process of being edited and hopefully cleaned of glaring plotholes! Updated daily.

Summary
The peace treaty between Asgard and Jotunheim binds the Frost Giants in the All-Father's magic: into every generation, a Jotunn child will be born who is not a giant. As tribute, these children are sent to Asgard when they come of age and, changed in appearance beyond their stature, integrated into Asgardian society by being married to an Asgardian youth of equal social rank.
Then Loki, heir of Laufey, is born. Jotunheim tries to keep Loki secret, hidden, but Odin's magic is too powerful. Loki is given to Asgard--as a bride for Odin's son.
Now, as Princess of Asgard, Loki finds herself falling in love with Prince Thor, though he doesn't warm to her overtures. In an attempt to escape her frustration, Loki uses her own magic to shift her sex and blend in as a young stablehand--who becomes a friend and confidante to Asgard's terribly confused young prince.

Summary
After the Arbiter helps Miranda Keyes and Sergeant Johnson to halt the Halo's firing sequence, he swears to protect them from the Covenant as they fight to reach the Ark. However, he finds he is unprepared for the political struggles and moral dilemmas that follow from rejecting the religion and laws he had followed since birth. As he fights to gain ground, he encounters a strange conspiracy involving the Prophet of Truth and an aspiring Hierarch: the Prophet of Justice. Meanwhile, an Unggoy (Grunt) risks his life when he tries to do the right thing and inadvertently ends up becoming a pivotal figure.
This fanfic was outlined a year after Halo 2 came out in anticipation of Halo 3 and was written as an idea of what Halo 3 could end up like. Halo works released before Halo 3, such as the graphic novel, made it not canon-friendly before Halo 3 ever came out. It should be considered as an alternate universe.
Note that the warning about rape pertains to repeated mention and threat, but rape isn't outright depicted.
