Summary
What if the incident beneath Solomon's Temple had gone differently? What is this sorcery and who is this stranger that came from the light? I suck at summarizing. This is slightly AU, Ezio stuck in Altair's time with no clue how to get home. Plot is based on AC1/Secre Crusade, with extra Italian on top.

Summary
When we meet Altaïr in the beginning of AC1 he's cocky, an asshole, and in general thinks he's better than everyone else; mainly because he is. I think the wiki says he's the youngest Master Assassin there'd been up to that point. So yeah, he'd have a fucking huge head, like I'm surprised he could walk through doors at the start of the game.
