Summary
A few years have passed since the events in 'The Stargazer and the Toolmaker', and all is well in Lakeside, as well as in Rodne and R'dek's (and Spitt's) cave, but winds of change are coming. They come first with the arrival of strangers to Lakeside, who carry the most terrible news. The Raiders, scourge of R'dek's childhood, are coming, and nothing will stop them.

Summary
In a bygone future that never was, the US Special Projects Bureau's Airship Daedalus carries an expedition to discover the fabled lost city of Atlantis. The expedition's founder is the mysterious heiress Dr Elizabeth Weir, and she has gathered together the world's greatest luminaries (and fierce rivals), Dr Rodney McKay and Dr Radek Zelenka, along with disgraced, lighter-than-air cavalry pilot, Major John Sheppard, hapless but courageous medical researcher Dr Carson Beckett and ex-civil war officer Major Evan Lorne, among others.
Their journey will take them into the depths of the hollow Earth, where they will make new friends and combat new, ancient enemies, as well as familiar, modern ones. Together they will find joy and sorrow, love and friendship, and the adventure of their lives.

Elizabeth stood and came around her desk, not running but only barely. She could see the stargate platform from the catwalk and when she looked down, she froze.
"Doctor Weir." Colonel Sumner was looking up at her, surrounded by Lieutenant Ford, Sergeant Markham, and a Pegasus native she didn't recognize. "Do you mind telling me what's going on?"
She took a deep breath so as to speak, but she was having a hard time finding the words. What did you say when the dead came back to life?
