It isn't Doc Hudson's no-nonsense advice that makes him reconsider his drive toward self-destruction so much as his newfound kinship with a member of the Delinquent Road Hazards. Explanation: I got tired of hearing that New Who is set mostly on Earth because alien planets cost too much.
I decided to try to write a New Who episode that would be set on an alien planet, but with easily available locations, sets, props and costumes, no prosthetics, human aliens, small cast (except for extras) simple special effects and minimal CGI. Be relatable, yet not a story that would work on Earth.
It was intended as a 45 minute episode. This is what you'd see on screen.

“Through adversity to the stars.” Hawke and Fenris's first meeting does not go well: A weary Hawke is angered at being used as bait and Fenris is dismayed to discover that most of the people he must rely on for help are mages. As time goes on, though, they each develop a grudging respect for the other, as well as other feelings that both are loath to acknowledge. However, Fenris's aversion to physical contact and his terrifying flashbacks do not help matters, nor does the revelation that Hawke is more than he first appeared to be.
