Elissa had dreamed of becoming a Warden. But how will she handle it when her greatest dreams and her worst fears are combined? A story started for NaNoWriMo 2011, and finished April 2012. This posting of "A Warden's Duty" is the edited version I'm working on now that the first draft is complete. The entire first draft can be found on fanfiction.net, but the chapter lengths, overall chapter count, and some chapter titles will be different there compared to here. (As always, Dragon Age and everything it includes belongs to Bioware; I'm playing in their sandbox and having the time of my life.)

But what starts out as a lark, ends with a murder, an ancient mystery, and a local race of "not quite intelligent" spider-monkey-like creatures that might have a reason for not quite being intelligent.
