Summary
I've valiantly fought my need to write a 21 Jump Street fic for about a year, but it looks like one slipped out anyway. I'm not going to lie—my knowledge of Jump Street canon comes more or less from the scenes Johnny is in. (Can you blame me?) Takes place at the beginning of the 4th season, and I'm operating on the premise that lots of things happen in between each episode. Also note that I took great pains to avoid naughty words in honor of good and decent 80's television, not easy for a girl whose favorite word begins with F. Title from a Pablo Neruda poem.

The onscreen friendship between Hanson and Penhall is so... enjoyable. I badly wanted it slashed, and thus took a peek over at ff.net. It paid off too, cause, lo and behold, despite my gloomy expectations I found a gem! And, even better, the author had an lj so you won't have to read it over at ff.net.
It's funny, sweet (in a non-choking way) and the boys feels very in character. I love Dough drunkenly complimenting Hanson's eyes:
"Like, like oceans filled with chocolate pudding," Penhall amended. My only complaint is one or two confusing pov-switches. -

Canonverse.
Naruto leaves Konoha, both to save Sasuke and to escape the plans to keep him restrained in Konoha. He gets taken prisoner by Orochimaru, but with the help of Sasuke, both of them get free. Naruto promises Sasuke to help him with his revenge against Itachi, and they have various adventures before they can finally fight him. On their adventures they fall in love, and we get some of the most awesome smut scenes I have ever read.
One of the best fanfics I ever read. I like it for its unpretentious but elegant style, for the love story (including the smut), and for the fact that Sasuke is portrayed as a likeable person. The ending is open, and the author planned a second part, but she did not get around to writing it.
