Merlin, a travelling fortune teller, meets a passing gentleman that saves him from drowning in a river. After being left behind by his fellow companions, the gentleman (whose name turns out to be Arthur), returns to the city months later and finds Merlin working for an abusive innkeeper. He saves Merlin yet again and installs him as a house servant in his own estate. What starts out as friendship blooms into something much more passionate when Arthur confesses his secret.
