'Anamnesis' is a Steampunk novel-in-progress about a Victorian-esque clockwork kingdom set in a fancifully re-imagined American West. Its inhabitants are clever and resourceful, and have compensated for the lack of natural resources by using clockwork mechanisms. This solution is not without a price, however; to become a citizen of Clarior, one most donate a part of oneself - literally. The lucky lose bones or blood; the unlucky, entire organs. Whatever the City takes, it replaces with a clockwork mechanism powered directly by the clock tower at the heart of the kingdom. It is a method of self-preservation. Those bound to the clock require it to survive, and thus will do anything to protect it. They are literally part of the City, and the City is literally a part of them.
A recent coup attempt has left General Tren Tardor quite literally broken, more machine now than man, and has scattered his precious memories all over the City. Something went wrong the day the king was overthrown; something which has resulted in the disruption of the City’s time. A badly placed Threshold leads Marsh to Lewis's bedroom, and the unspoken tension between them is most satisfyingly resolved.
Or: Lewis is secretly kinky in all the right ways to get Marsh hot and bothered. Dirty, tied-up sex happens.
Looks like no one's written any fic for this 'verse yet, which is a crying shame, but I felt like sharing some of mine. These two are too good together to leave alone!
Fits where chapter 19 goes in the actual book, but this is slightly AU in assuming that Lewis already knows about the scars on Marsh's back at this point. And also AU with, y'know, them fucking...
